Apna Staff is operated by TAILWEBS TECHNOLOGY ("we," "us," or "our"), a company based in India. This Privacy Policy applies to the Apna Staff application and services provided by Tailwebs Technology.

Apna Staff is a domestic staff salary management app designed to help Indian households manage attendance, salary, and payments for their maids, drivers, cooks, and other helpers. Because users store sensitive household and staff details, we prioritize privacy, data security, and on-device storage at every level.

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information.

1. Information We Collect

A. Data Stored Locally on Your Device

All your staff, attendance, salary, and payment data is stored only on your device. We do not have access to this data, and it is never uploaded to our servers or any third party.

  • Staff names, roles, and monthly salaries
  • Daily attendance records (present, absent, half-day, leave)
  • Payment history and advance records
  • App settings and personal preferences

B. Anonymous Usage Analytics

We collect anonymous usage data to improve the app experience. This data cannot identify you personally.

  • Screen views — to understand which features are used most
  • Button taps and interactions — to improve user experience
  • Crash reports — to fix bugs and improve stability
  • Device model and OS version — to ensure compatibility
  • App version — to track adoption of updates

We never collect staff names, exact salary amounts, phone numbers, or any ID proof images.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use collected information to:

  • Provide core app functionality (attendance, salary, payments)
  • Improve app performance and stability
  • Understand which features are valuable to users
  • Fix crashes and bugs quickly
  • Notify you of important app updates

Your personal data is used strictly to enhance your experience inside Apna Staff. We do not sell your data. Ever.

3. Third-Party Services

The app uses the following third-party services for analytics, crash reporting, and push notifications:

  • Firebase Analytics (Google) — anonymous usage analytics
  • Firebase Crashlytics (Google) — crash reporting
  • Firebase Cloud Messaging (Google) — push notifications
  • Firebase Remote Config (Google) — app configuration management
  • Google AdMob — advertising
  • Mixpanel — anonymous user behavior analytics

These services receive only anonymous, non-personal data. You can review their privacy policies on their respective websites.

4. Advertising

The app displays advertisements through Google AdMob. AdMob may use device identifiers to serve personalized ads.

On iOS 14.5 and later, you will be asked for permission before any ad tracking occurs (App Tracking Transparency prompt). You can choose to deny this permission and still use the app normally.

5. Push Notifications

The app may send push notifications for:

  • Daily attendance reminders (optional)
  • App updates and new features
  • Helpful tips and usage suggestions
  • Festival greetings

You can disable promotional notifications in the app's Settings screen or through your device's notification settings.

6. Data Storage & Security

We implement industry-standard security practices:

  • All personal data (staff info, attendance, salaries) is stored only on your device
  • No personal data is sent to our servers or any third party
  • Anonymous analytics data is transmitted via HTTPS (encrypted in transit)
  • The app works fully offline — no internet required for core functionality

Apna Staff is designed as a privacy-first, offline-first system.

7. Data Retention

  • Local data: Stored on your device until you delete it or uninstall the app
  • Analytics data: Retained by Firebase for 14 months, and by Mixpanel per their retention policy
  • Crash reports: Retained by Firebase Crashlytics for 90 days

Since we do not store your staff, attendance, or salary data on our servers, uninstalling the app removes all personal data permanently.

8. Your Rights

You may:

  • Delete local data: Uninstall the app to remove all locally stored data
  • Opt out of analytics: We plan to add an analytics opt-out toggle in a future update
  • Opt out of ad tracking: Deny the App Tracking Transparency prompt on iOS, or reset your Advertising ID on Android
  • Disable push notifications: Toggle off "Promotional Notifications" in app Settings

9. Children's Privacy

Apna Staff is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will be indicated by the "Last Updated" date at the top and communicated in-app where necessary.
